City Lodge Hotel at
OR Tambo International Airport

Based at Africa’s busiest airport, the 365-room City Lodge Hotel at OR Tambo International Airport provides business and leisure travellers with accommodation that is ideal for travellers commuting to and from Johannesburg and those who require immediate access to the airport. The hotel offers direct access via a designated walkway. The airport offers a number of services, from banking to a wide range of retailers, and the hotel offers boardroom and conference facilities, a fitness room, pool with deck, and large commercial area and restaurant.

OPERATIONS

Operations are unique at this hotel as we run a 24-hour food, housekeeping, and reception service for guests arriving at all hours of the day or night. Operations start at 2:00am as staff prepare for flights scheduled to land from 4:00am onwards. Guests who have checked in online can collect their room keys from a satellite desk established for this purpose.

Housekeeping during the evening involves specially trained staff, silent vacuum cleaners, and efficient turnaround times to accommodate as many guests as possible. Overflow guests are shuttled to our Road Lodge, Town Lodge or City Lodge Hotel on Barbara Road at no extra cost for an overnight stay or a shower, and a daytime stay for any delayed guests.

FOOD

Our kitchen runs 24-hours per day, seven days a week. We offer:

  • 24-hour buffet meal served from 2am
  • A la carte menu between 4:00am and 10:00pm
  • Conference buffet for guests using our conferencing facilities
  • Choice of Continental (buffet) or Full English breakfast daily
  • Room service at any time of day
  • Various hot and cold beverages, including alcoholic beverages

CONFERENCING

We provide the following facilities:

  • 5 meeting rooms available for use between 8:00am and 5:00pm each day
  • board rooms seating eight, 12 and 20 guests, respectively
  • 2 conference rooms each seating 24 guests, combined they have a capacity of 50 guests
  • Conference buffet served between 12:00pm and 2:00pm
  • Arrangement with Gautrain management to transport business guests from Sandton or Rosebank to OR Tambo International Airport and we offer a shuttle from the Gautrain station to our front door at no extra charge

CAPITAL INVESTMENT

Capital investment into this hotel includes:

  • Refurbishment of dining room facilities to accommodate an increased number of guests
  • Planned refurbishment of rooms, bathrooms, artwork and electrical outlets scheduled for 2023
  • Kitchen refurbishment completed in September 2022 to accommodate increased food and beverage offering
